Base Pay Administration

Salary administration (also referred to as base pay administration) provides structure to compensation systems through competitive assessments and benchmarking, developing salary structures and salary administration guidelines and communications.  Information is gathered through interviews with key personnel regarding the overall vision and pay philosophy of the organization, followed by development of the compensation strategy, which serves as the foundation for base pay administration and other compensation initiatives.

Optima will

  • Assess current pay methods
  • Revise position descriptions and identify benchmark roles
  • Conduct market analyses
  • Develop a salary structure reflective of the company’s intended position within its market
  • Prepare cost analysis of new salary structure following job slotting
  • Develop guidelines and write salary administration manual
  • Prepare merit and salary increase budgets
  • Review and maintain salary structure for equity and competitiveness
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws
